Welcome to all our Year 5 and Year 6 children.

Hello! I’m Mr. Cotton, and I’m delighted to share a bit about myself. When I’m not in the classroom at Burton Pidsea Primary School, you’ll most likely find me enjoying a game of football on the weekends. I also take pleasure in refereeing matches; it adds a different twist to the game and helps me grow my appreciation for teamwork and fair play. Outside of sports, my labradoodle, Beans, is a constant source of joy. He’s got a personality that’s larger than life and keeps me on my toes! There’s nothing quite like the experience of taking him out for long walks, where we can enjoy the fresh air and explore. He’s always up for an adventure.

One of my favourite subjects to teach is science. I’ve always been fascinated by how things work, and conducting experiments in the classroom is such a rewarding experience. I love seeing the delight on my students’ faces as we explore scientific concepts together. It’s not just about the lessons we cover; it’s about sparking their curiosity and encouraging them to ask questions.

Becoming a teacher was a natural choice for me, primarily because I want to have a meaningful and long-lasting impact on children’s lives. Teaching is my passion, and I feel incredibly fortunate to share my enthusiasm with the students at Burton Pidsea. Each day is an opportunity to inspire and nurture young minds, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
